Location

100 years in the making.
welcome to Valhalla tahoe.

Badass name. Somehow, an even better venue. Historic wood beams, epic lake views, and enough character that we immediately knew it was the place for us.

Outside of venue
The venue

Nested along the South shore of Lake Tahoe, steeped in history it feels like one of those places thats somehow already nostalgic.

By car

There’s free parking on-site at Valhalla and open for the duration of the night. Just follow the signs past the gate when you arrive!

By shuttle

We’ll have shuttle transportation available for guests staying nearby. More details and pickup locations will live here as we get closer.

Hotels

Where to rest & recover during your visit.

Wedding flowers resting on chair
Room Block

We’ll have a room block at Coachman Hotel, located near Stateline with walkable access to the lake, casinos, Heavenly Village, and plenty nearby.

This will also serve as one of our wedding shuttle pickup locations, making travel to and from Valhalla easy.

Booking details will live here once available.

Go Your Own Way

South Lake Tahoe is full of hotels, Airbnbs, cabins, and places to stay, so feel free to find whatever fits your style best.

If you'd like to use shuttle transportation, check out our pickup and dropoff zones before booking.

Here are a few places we recommend:

Getting Back At Night

After the wedding, we’ll be continuing the celebration at our favorite local sports bar: Steamers.

Shuttles will help move guests to and from the afterparty so everyone can celebrate responsibly.

Fun fact: Andrew & Melissa live directly behind Steamers and somehow helped turn it into a Detroit Lions bar.

The Big Day

Here’s the run of show for August 7.
Show up, follow the crowd, and we’ll handle the rest.

3:00 PM

Ceremony

We’ll gather inside Valhalla’s historic Heller Hall beneath the massive stone fireplace to officially do the thing.

Please arrive a little early so everyone has time to grab a beverage & settle in before we begin.

4:00 PM

Drinks & Mingle

After the ceremony, we’ll head outdoors for drinks, snacks, and time to celebrate with lake views and good company.

Take photos, say hello to people you haven't seen in years, and enjoy a little fresh air before dinner.

5:30 PM

Dinner on the Lawn

Dinner will be served outside on the lawn with good food, drinks, and a few speeches from people we trusted with microphones.

Expect a relaxed evening & come hungry.

7:00 PM

Party & Dancing

As the sun starts to set, we’ll head back inside for dancing, drinks, and general celebration behavior.

From this point forward, we are no longer responsible for dance floor decisions, song requests, or general behavior.

Participation encouraged. Accountability limited.

FAQs

How do I get to South Lake Tahoe?

Flying in? Most guests should plan to fly into Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO). From Reno, South Lake Tahoe is about a 1 hour drive into the mountains. You can rent a car for the weekend or take one of several shuttle services that run between Reno and South Lake Tahoe. People make the drive every day and it's an easy, beautiful trip up to the lake.

Do I need to rent a car?

Not necessarily! Between airport shuttles, wedding transportation, and staying near pickup zones, many guests can get around just fine without one. That said, if you want to explore Tahoe while you're here, having a car certainly doesn't hurt.

Can I park at the venue?

Yes! Parking will be available at Valhalla. That said, we’ll also have shuttle transportation available throughout the day, so we encourage guests to take advantage of it and focus on celebrating instead of driving.

Can I make a vacation out of this? How far is everything?

Absolutely. A lot of guests will be arriving early or staying a little longer to take advantage of Tahoe. One thing to know: Lake Tahoe is surprisingly HUGE. Everything wedding-related will take place exclusively in South Lake Tahoe, where many guests will be staying. If you plan on exploring the East Shore, West Shore, or North Lake Tahoe, just know things can be farther than they appear. It takes roughly an hour to drive from South Lake Tahoe to North Lake Tahoe, and you'll definitely want a rental car for those adventures. The roads around the lake also tend to be slower, windy mountain roads. At least they’re scenic. Just mountain rules. Not impossible at all — just plan accordingly.

Can I bring a plus one?

Yes! If you're attending solo, your invitation will include a plus one. We figured destination weddings are more fun with a co-pilot.

Are kids welcome?

Nope. This is an adults-only event. We appreciate your understanding and your babysitter's service.

What should I wear?

Think polished without overthinking it. We’ll be by the lake in the summer & aiming for a relaxed Tahoe vibe. Keep it casual-ish, keep it classy, and please leave the jeans at home. Bridesmaids will be in rust tones. Groomsmen will be in brown. Please don’t accidentally report for duty.

What will the weather be like?

Tahoe in August usually means sunny days around 75–85° and cooler evenings in the 40s–50s. Bring sunscreen, drink water, and consider an extra layer once the sun goes down. Tahoe likes to remind people it lives in the mountains.

Will there be vegetarian/vegan food?

Yes! Dinner will be buffet-style with options for everyone. Please include any dietary restrictions in your RSVP. If you forget, just reach out to Andrew or Melissa and we’ll take note. We'd rather plan ahead than discover surprises at dinner.

Is there a gift registry?

Yes! For anyone interested, we’ve put together a registry and linked it here on the website.
